The F-4 Phantom II:
The F-4 Phantom is probably one of the best known and most widespread fighter jets in the world. Developed by McDonnell Douglas for the USAF as an air superiority fighter, a whopping 5,195 machines were built in many different versions between 1958 and 1981. The Phantom was already used in the Vietnam War and was given another role as a fighter-bomber. During this time, it already turned out to be very robust and was superior to enemy aircraft. The Phantom was also exported to different countries and some machines are still in service.
